AFL Architects Announce Departure of Director Sheldon Walsh

← Back to news & insight

The AFL Architects Board of Directors are announcing that Sheldon Walsh, Director, has chosen to depart the practice.

Sheldon has led the AFL Healthcare team since 2013. The Board has therefore begun a process to appoint a successor and a further announcement will be made in due course.

In the interim period, the practice is welcoming previous Healthcare Director Martin Morton back into the business, assisted by Director Garry Rowlands. This move ensures the practice continues to provide an uninterrupted quality of service to current and new clients.

Garry Rowlands, Director, said: “On behalf of the Board, we would like to thank Sheldon for his work and wish him every success in the future.”

John Roberts, Director, added: “This announcement follows an unprecedented level of project success for AFL, where we have delivered our largest commissions to date. Our next focus is therefore to reassert our strong position in the market and recruit from outside of the practice. We will be searching for someone exceptional who can work alongside our four-strong leadership team to lead AFL through the next phase of our evolution.”

The AJ100 practice has recently delivered Lusail Stadium for the FIFA World Cup Qatar, and current projects include The Christie @ Macclesfield, Rutherford Diagnostics Programme of Works, Bournemouth Training Centre and the £130m Swansea Central Phase One project.

AFL will continue to be led by Directors Garry Rowlands, John Roberts, Phil Osborne and Stephen Stock, with Martin Morton continuing in a consultancy role.
