AFL's Alex Kendall Supports PLACED Academy at Summer School 2024

← Back to news & insight

AFL’s Alex Kendall had the pleasure of supporting the PLACED Academy as an ambassador last week at their Summer School 2024.

Exploring diverse careers in the built environment

Students got a first-hand look at different careers within the built environment and got immersed in a variety of different aspects within the industry from town planning to graphic design and model making, as they designed, modeled, presented, and justified their island masterplans.

"It is clear to me the huge impact PLACED Academy has and the dedication and hard work of their team. I am massively impressed by their commitment to improving the knowledge and confidence of a diverse range of young people, creating pathways into construction, making placemaking more creative and connecting professionals and communities. Construction has the potential to be hugely fun and creative and it benefits immensely from a wider range of voices and ideas. I am massively excited to join them as an Ambassador and I look forward to helping them to improve the future of the built environment!"

We’re incredibly proud to be able to support such a fantastic program and we’re excited to see how the initiative continues to inspire diverse voices, foster career awareness, and break down barriers to professional paths within the built environment!
