First Patients Welcomed at Broad Street's Community Diagnostic Centre

← Back to news & insight

The construction of Halifax's new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) has been successfully completed, with the facility opening its doors to its first patients this week on Monday, 22nd July. This modern healthcare hub represents a significant step forward in providing accessible and efficient diagnostic services to the local community.

The primary goal of the CDC is to enhance the availability of diagnostic tests by offering a single, convenient access point for a variety of services within the community.

This new centre allows patients to undergo scans and tests locally, eliminating the need for extended trips to the hospital. Designed and built in exactly 12 months, this development not only makes these services more accessible but is also expected to reduce waiting times for the NHS over the long term. With the CDC situated in a central location, patients can easily combine their healthcare visits with other activities such as shopping or participating in community activities.

In designing the CDC, there was a strong emphasis on creating a natural 'spa' feel within the constraints of healthcare requirements. This vision has been realized through enhanced finishes and thoughtful design choices.

The opening of Halifax's new Community Diagnostic Centre marks a significant enhancement in the delivery of local healthcare services, promising a more streamlined and patient-friendly experience for the local community.

With its state-of-the-art facilities and strategic location, the CDC is set to become an integral part of Halifax's healthcare infrastructure.
