Sefton Council has officially appointed GRAHAM, one of the UK’s leading contractors, to oversee the delivery of the MLEC development in Southport. With a pre-construction services agreement now in place, the project team is working toward finalizing the full contract, with construction set to begin later this year.
The development is set to become a pivotal addition to Southport's cultural and economic landscape. Featuring a modern theatre, auditorium, and exhibition centre, alongside retail concessions, a café, and a restaurant, it will serve as a key anchor for the Waterfront redevelopment, attracting visitors and driving economic growth for Southport.
The demolition of the Southport Theatre and Convention Centre building has been completed, with sheet piling works set to begin soon. This marks the beginning of a new era for Southport’s events scene, with the Marine Lake Events Centre set to become a landmark destination.
