Swindon Radiotherapy Centre

Located on the Great Western Hospital site on the edge of Swindon, this project for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust (OUH) provides satellite radiotherapy services, significantly reducing travel times for patients who would previously have to travel to Oxford. 13,000 patient journeys for radiotherapy treatment will be reduced annually.

Built in the grounds of the existing hospital but a standalone facility, it provides two Linac machines (Varian) for radiotherapy treatment, a dedicated CT scanner (Philips) and ancillary treatment and consultation spaces. A Macmillan information and support

Charitably funded by a local desire to improve radiotherapy provision, AFL were involved from inception to completion over a 10 year period, with much of the site work taking place during the Covid lockdowns.
