Sports & Leisure

Spaces that channel energy, spark inspiration and incite unforgettable atmospheres.

Whether a new home stadium, an arena with limitless flexibility, a training ground to hone your talent, or a way to optimise and drive revenue through your existing venue, the smallest detail can make the biggest impact.

The spectator journey is one full of important touchpoints. From the fan zones and public realm, to right into the centre of the action. We consider these details, using data-driven processes, to unearth new possibilities and new purpose.

AFL Architects Barca

Founded on sports and leisure design. Perfected through decades.

The practice has a long history working for high-profile clients on world-famous sports projects: our founders have a history dating back to the original masterplan of Manchester United FC’s Old Trafford Stadium for the FIFA 1966 World Cup.

Across 25 countries, we have created stadia, arenas, training facilities and event masterplans that meet and surpass the standards of international authorities: optimising sound, sightlines, safety and inclusivity.

Our clients are passionate fans, like us: just as excited for the revitalisation of historic community venues as we are for the iconic megastadium.
