What do you do at AFL?

I have been at the practice for 30 years now, so I’m a bit of an institution here and the longest serving staff member.

Currently, I’m an Associate Director for Sports & Leisure. In my time at AFL I have had the pleasure of working with some of the most famous football clubs in the world – Liverpool FC, Chelsea FC, Manchester United FC, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC, Brighton and Hove Albion FC, AFC Bournemouth and FC Barcelona.

What is your proudest moment?

I’ve been involved in two FIFA World Cups with the Peter Mokaba Stadium for South Africa 2010 and Lusail Stadium for Qatar 2022, where I found myself based in the country for a while, which was a bit of an experience.

Closer to home, I was responsible for the UEFA reviews of Kharkiv and Poznan Stadiums to comply with legislation and Green Guide standards for the Euro 2012 Championships in Ukraine and Poland. Being involved with international sports events is a definite highlight of the job.
